Another photo from my recent trip to the Grand Canyon. I was amazed at how many of these waterfalls there were to be found off the river and in side canyons. So beautiful!

Last week I had the opportunity to explore the Grand Canyon in a unique way (more about this soon). This picture was taken from down in the canyon maybe 100 miles west of where the Kaibab and Bright Angel trails hit the Colorado River. This is such an amazing place filled with diversity and creativity! Stay tuned for more images of this wonder.

Thank you to Doug Stephens who sent in this image of this interesting flower. I believe, according to my quick investigation, that this is a Celosia cristata (commonly known as Cockscomb). What a unique plant! I am continually surprised at the diversity and uniqueness of God’s creation.

Beauty of Creation: Trees Growing in Water

I find it fascinating that these trees can grow in the water like this. This photo was taken in Louisiana recently during our oil spill prayer journey. I have also seen this in the state of Washington. I find this to be so incredible. How did they get started? How do they survive?
While I am sure there are good answers for these questions that can scientifically explain this phenomenon, it no less diminishes the beauty of God’s creation. Our God is amazing!

I took this photo near Venice Marina, Louisiana on our recent Gulf Coast Prayer Journey. I believe this bird is an egret, although I am not sure of the specific type. Perhaps it is a snowy egret. [Please comment below if you know. My identification skills are lacking.]
Regardless, this is an impressive bird that we came across on our journey. It was captivating to watch them walk around and fly overhead. I so appreciate the diversity and beauty of God’s creation.

Thank you to Mark McCormick who submitted this incredible image which was taken earlier this year. What an incredible image! Perhaps Jesus Himself saw similar views. I wonder what His reaction would have been. Let ours be to praise our Creator and Lord.

So often we miss beauty that is right in front of us. We would look right past something like some tomatoes. Yet, there is something so amazing about how God has ordered His creation that these things might grow how they do. Take a moment and reflect on the beauty of these tomatoes. Then ask yourself where else there may be unrecognized beauty right in front of you.
